I am sharing a link to an article I hope all my blog readers will check out. It is entitled “Do Your Genes Determine Your Destiny?” and published in Home Cures That Work by Barton Publishing.
The content of this article, written by Dr. Scott Saunders, M,D,, well explains the basic concepts of the science of Epigenetics which I reference in the book, Slam the Door on Cancer …and lock it out of your life.
What do I hope you will gain from reading this article? We have been brainwashed into thinking we are helpless regarding our genetic make-up—our inherited DNA. With rare exception and I mean VERY rare exception, what we see, hear, touch, smell, taste, think, and speak changes our DNA and what we eat (and drink), our sleep habits, and our emotional responses strongly impact our genes.
In short, we DO have free will even though “medical science” has convinced us otherwise. There are recent posts about this subject on my other blog, www.slamthedooroncancer.com as well.
Cancer, indeed disease, is NOT a random occurrence. While the health of the genes in our cells is key and critical for avoiding cancer, we have considerable control over our genetic health and, therefore, considerable control over our resistance to cancer and other disease.
We know for a fact that our body cells die and are replaced by new cells regularly–sometimes the life span is days and sometimes a few years, but we renew our cellular make-up regularly and we have a great deal to say about the genetic plan/DNA that influences the replacement cells.
Our stewardship of our DNA impacts future generations as the stewardship of our ancestors DNA impacts us. We CAN overcome that generational impact we too often believe is “set in concrete”. We CAN give our progeny better “stuff” than we received.
It’s all about our attitude and choices as is MUCH discussed in my book–in practical ways referencing both science and Scripture.
Choose Life! Deuteronomy 30:19 (ASV)
Scripture agrees with science, of course,
